Most Popular Souvenirs

When we go on a holiday one of the ways we help ourselves to reminisce later
is by taking a souvenir home with us. This could be a free item we pick up
on our travels or something we buy specifically to remind us of the fun we
had. Here are a few of our favourites!
I Heart T-shirts - The T-shirts with a heart in-between 'I' and any given
destination are kitsch and fun. You'll find them at almost any holiday
destination but they're especially popular in London and New York.
Russian Dolls (Or 'Nesting Dolls') - Russian dolls are made from carved wood
and they sit perfectly within one another. They're an old tradition and no
trip to Russia is complete without buying a set!
Tea - Tea is one of the most popular souvenirs bought by visitors to China.
Authentic Chinese tea is truly delicious and the mysticism and romance which
surrounds the Chinese tea ceremony has enchanted holiday makers for
centuries.
Pebbles, Shells and Sand - These are some of the free souvenirs we mentioned
in the introduction to this article. Every year thousands of people take
pretty pebbles, shells or even little portions of sand home from
international beaches.
Alcoholic Drinks - No trip to Ireland is complete without some sort of
Guinness merchandise and no trip to France is quite right if you don't bring
home a bottle of delicious wine. In many other countries their national
beverages are just as celebrated and have also become sought after
souvenirs.
Sombreros or Maraccas - If you're going to Mexico you might come back with a
sombrero. Sombreros along with maraccas are two of the most stereotypically
Mexican things out there. They don't get used so often by the real Mexican
people, but they're fun to wear and rattle!
